Marco Tamayo on Fingering

Here is an incredibly informative and insightful video from Cuban guitarist Marco Tamayo (who teaches at the Mozarteum in Salzburg) on a new approach to musical and technical fingerings for the left hand. (What he has to say here about the mindset of “difficulty” in a passage of music diminishing the potential of the player to play that passage is especially important.)

This is the second of two videos Marco has put up on his YouTube page recently (see the first one here), and both are developing ideas from his book Essential Principles for the Performance of the Classical Guitar.
