Bluvenduo brings Schubert and Schumann to two guitars on new Naxos album

September 8, 2026 by CGR Leave a Comment

Bluvenduo—Sebastian Robles and Zhanxiang Shi—has a new recording of transcriptions for two guitars in Naxos’s September release programme. The label lists 4 September 2026 as the release date for the album, catalogue number 8.579184.

A programme beyond the guitar repertoire

The selection includes Schubert’s Sonata in A major, D. 664, Franck’s Prélude, fugue et variation, three Rachmaninov preludes and Schumann’s Kinderszenen. The arrangements are by the duo, and Naxos identifies their Kinderszenen as a world-premiere recording of that arrangement.

Norbert Kraft produced, engineered and edited the recording. For guitar duos exploring new repertoire, the programme offers a listening opportunity centred on the translation of keyboard and organ textures to two instruments.

The label’s release page includes the track listing and a Schubert excerpt.
