When: 19 November 2026 · 1pm to approximately 2pm, UK time
Where: Guildhall, Bath, United Kingdom
Samrat Majumder appears at Bath Mozartfest on 19 November for a lunchtime recital at the Guildhall. The programme centres on nineteenth-century guitar music and the possibilities of bringing song to a plucked instrument.
On the programme
Sor is represented by three studies from Op. 35, the Grand Solo, Op. 14, and six selected airs from Mozart’s The Magic Flute. Regondi’s Introduction et Caprice, Op. 23, follows a different strand of Romantic guitar writing.
The Schubert selections include Lob der Tränen in Mertz’s arrangement, alongside Majumder’s own arrangements of Der Wanderer an den Mond and Litanei auf das Fest Aller Seelen. For players interested in transcription, that combination makes this a particularly useful programme to explore.
Booking
The recital begins at 1pm and ends at approximately 2pm. The organiser lists ticket bands of £18, £23 and £31, with a £1.50 processing fee per order. Use its booking link for current availability; the event code is MF13.
