Julian Bream makes a generous donation
Julian Bream, the world revered classical guitarist, has donated his personal art collection to the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. This extraordinary glimpse into the private thoughts and life of such a celebrated musician can be viewed at the Weston Gallery at RWCMD.
This was a lovely thing for Mr. Bream to do for the College. His playing has moved me as no other, for many years, and I’m not surprised at his generosity — or by the generally late-Impressionist style of the paintings.
Also, to judge from the photo accompanying the article, I don’t doubt that hanging the paintings did improve the acoustics of the room!
