Profile of the week – Aniello Desiderio
Aniello Desiderio is a wonderful performer. He gives unique interpretations of a variety of works and what has always surprised me is how he can take a very well known work, such as Asturias, and turn it into something new. Some people find his interpretations a bit jarring as they might not conform to performances they have heard in the past. For my money, it is more interesting to listen to something new, exciting, surprising and individual rather than something predictable. I have had the pleasure of seeing Aniello peform almost ten times and I always look forward to the next performance. He performs regularly on a guitar by Alessandro Marseglia and gives masterclasses at a variety of festivals.

I first heard of Aniello a year ago from a YouTube video someone sent me. I was shocked at his technique. I couldn’t agree with you more, Simon…he’s simply amazing.
