Ungdommens Gitarmesterskap (UGM) returns to Åsane kulturhus in Bergen on Sunday 4 October 2026. Presented by the team behind Tino Andersen International Guitar Festival, the day focuses on young classical guitarists and the experience of performing on a professional stage.
The organisers announce two age groups: 10–15, with a ten-minute free programme, and 16–24, with fifteen minutes. The published registration deadline was 15 September, so this is a date for listeners and supporters to follow rather than an invitation to submit a late entry.
Following the next generation
The day’s plans include the competition, a new festival documentary and a concert by a prizewinner from the 2025 festival. The organisers also promise a professional livestream throughout the day, allowing teachers, families and guitar listeners outside Bergen to follow the event.
Use the official website for the final timetable and viewing arrangements as the date approaches. This October gathering is separate from the next full Tino Andersen International Guitar Festival, scheduled for June 2027.
