Judicaël Perroy: Ponce Guitar Music, vol. 4 (NAXOS)

French guitarist Judicaël Perroy has released a new recording with NAXOS of Manuel Maria Ponce’s guitar music (this is vol. 4 in the NAXOS Ponce Guitar recordings).

The tracks include the “Sonatina Meridional,” both versions of the “Thème, Varie, et Finale” (the first version from 1926 and the later 1928 version edited by Segovia), “Diferencias sobre la Folias de España,” “Variaciones sobre un tema de A. Cabezón,” and the “Andante” from “Guitar Sonata no. 2” (this last one is a world premiere recording from a manuscript lost in the Spanish Civil War and reconstructed by Angelo Gilardino).
