Luis Ángel Topete Galván performs his own classical-guitar arrangement of Quand je menais mes chevaux boire in a video published on 3 October 2026. The four-minute film pairs the traditional French song with tapestry-style animation.

In his video notes, Topete traces the song to Édouard Moullé’s Cinquante chants populaires recueillis en Haute-Normandie, published in 1890. He explains that the arrangement moves through different musical styles, reflecting the changes a traditional melody can undergo as it passes between performers and generations.

The visual narrative draws on the Bayeux Tapestry and paintings by Renoir and other artists. Topete discloses that he used AI to create the visuals; the guitar arrangement and performance are his own.

The project brings a traditional song into a solo-guitar setting while giving its story a separate visual interpretation. Topete’s accompanying notes identify the artworks used as references and explain the ideas behind the film.
