Virgile Barthe, winner of the Guitar Foundation of America’s 2025 International Concert Artist Competition, is undertaking his winner’s tour, with autumn appearances in the United States and Canada.
The GFA’s published itinerary includes Indianapolis on 1 October, the Louisville Guitar Festival on 9 October, Cincinnati on 17 October and Columbus on 18 October. Later dates include Winnipeg on 14 November and Toronto on 21 November.
From competition success to the recital stage
A winner’s tour gives audiences a chance to encounter a developing international artist through a full programme, beyond the short clips and results announcements that often accompany competitions.
For aspiring professionals, it is also a useful reminder of the work that follows a major prize: carrying a programme between cities and introducing it to audiences with different listening backgrounds.

The GFA maintains the tour listing and a presenter press kit. Follow the relevant society or venue for confirmed start times, programmes and tickets; the itinerary itself is a planning guide rather than a booking confirmation.
