Duo Melis—Susana Prieto and Alexis Muzurakis—performs Tudor-Mihai Gliga’s Firelit Ascent in a film published by Siccas Guitars on 15 August 2026.
The publisher identifies this as the work’s world premiere and notes its second prize in the 2024 Veria International Guitar Festival composition competition, whose jury was chaired by Stephen Goss. The performance lasts approximately seven and a half minutes.
A new work for the duo listening list
For guitar duos, a newly recorded score offers more than a potential programme addition: it is an opportunity to think about how two similar instruments share musical space.
On a first hearing, follow how the musical foreground passes between the players. On a second, concentrate on the relationship between attacks, resonance and silence. Those questions can be useful in rehearsal even when working on very different repertoire.
