Western classical music once relied on and thrived from the patronage of aristocrats and royalty. While many things have changed in the classical music world since the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, this apparently is not one of them!
Coming up this summer is the prestigious Brussels International Guitar Festival, which is hosted by the patronage of Her Majesty the Queen, Mathilde of Belgium. This, the fifth annual edition of the festival, proves to be one you won’t want to miss. There will be masterclasses and concerts from April 22 to April 26. Here are just some of the distinguished guests:
Anabel Montesinos and Marco Tamayo, Ana Vidovic, Máximo Diego Pujol, Hugues Navez, Pedro Da Silva Soares, Four Aces Guitar Quartet, and Paul Galbraith. There is also an international competition that takes place during the festival. For more info, see the Festival’s website here.
